Funeral Rites

The aim of this resource is to offer bereaved families assistance in planning a funeral liturgy.

The first page gives a broad overview of what takes place.

The next  is a liturgical planning sheet to help families plan the funeral Mass, while the other files are for Old & New Testament readings & sample prayers of the faithful.

Families are invited to print off and use the liturgical planner sheet to assist them in plan the funeral Mass, as well as print the first and second readings they have chosen.

Families can choose from the sample prayers of the faithful and/or write their own personal prayers of the faithful – the usual number of prayers of the faithful is 5.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
